Modern sports cars have come a long way from the bare-bones machines of the past. New sports cars continue to deliver impressive performance blended with a new degree of practicality. One of the leading models in this new class of practical sports cars is the Ford Mustang EcoBoost. The 2017 Ford Mustang EcoBoost engine performance provides ample power blended with practical fuel economy. Under the hood of the 2017 Mustang EcoBoost is a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Turbocharging a four-cylinder engine allows the Mustang EcoBoost to maintain practical fuel economy ratings. When equipped with this engine, the car earns up to an estimated 22 miles per gallon in the city, and 31 miles per gallon on the highways. While many traditionalists may raise their eyebrows at a four-cylinder engine in a Mustang, Ford’s turbocharged EcoBoost is able to deliver impressive performance. The turbo does its job well, helping the car produce 310 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque. Two trim levels will offer the 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine. The EcoBoost and EcoBoost Premium models each come equipped with this engine. In addition to the two trim levels, the engine can be paired with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. Both coupe and convertible body styles are also available.
