2025 Transit Passenger Wagon: New Features, Performance, Design and More! The 2025 Transit Passenger Wagon arrives with meaningful upgrades, improving comfort, technology, and safety for both drivers and passengers. Ford continues to refine its popular commuter van, making it ideal for Calgary businesses, family travel, and group transport. This year’s model focuses on advanced infotainment, enhanced cabin comfort, and additional driver-assistance technologies. The Transit has also earned recognition in North America, receiving awards from 2022 to 2024 for its reliability and versatility, establishing its reputation as one of the leading passenger vans.
Notable Changes from the Previous Year
Compared with the 2024 model, the 2025 Transit Passenger Wagon introduces several significant enhancements. The XLT trim now comes with a large centre console, integrated shifter, and dual cupholders. A 12.0-inch SYNC 4 touchscreen is standard on the XLT. Select trims now offer 10.0-way power heated seats for the driver and front passenger. Externally, the honeycomb mesh grille with Carbon Black surround is refined, paired with short-arm, power-folding heated mirrors with turn signals. Full rear compartment lighting is now standard across XL and XLT.
Infotainment and Technology Features
The XL trim retains a 4.0-inch multi-function display with 8 speakers. XLT adds SYNC 4 with a 12.0-inch touchscreen, integrated navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and higher-resolution camera support. Available Adaptive Cruise Control with ASLD improves highway comfort. Blind Spot Assist (BLIS with Cross-Traffic Alert and Trailer Coverage) is available on XLT, and the rear-view camera with Trailer Hitch Assist aids precise manoeuvring.
Exterior Design Updates
The honeycomb mesh grille and Carbon Black surround give a distinctive profile. New short-arm power-folding mirrors add visibility and integrated turn signals. Front fog lamps are standard on XLT. 50/50 hinged rear doors aid loading, while full rear compartment lighting enhances safety at night.
Interior Comfort and Cargo Space
Manual reclining bucket seats are standard on XL; XLT offers optional Dark Palazzo Gray cloth with 10.0-way power heated seats. Both trims feature large centre consoles with integrated shifters and dual cupholders. Full rear lighting improves visibility throughout the passenger area. Seating for up to 12 passengers with flexible cargo space behind the rear row suits school trips, airport transfers, and local business use.
Engine and Performance Features
Choose between a 3.5-litre PFDi V6 or optional 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6. Horsepower ranges from 275 hp (PFDi) to 310 hp (EcoBoost), with torque up to 400 lb-ft. Fuel capacity is 82 litres. Fuel efficiency ranges from 13.5 to 15.2 L/100 km depending on engine and trim.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
Standard Safety Canopy side-curtain airbags. Available on XLT: Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Assist, Lane-Keeping System, and Trailer Coverage. Rear-view camera and Trailer Hitch Assist improve confidence when reversing or towing.
